About Us
Jacob Cook's love for building performance engines was inspired by his hard-working, knuckle-busting father, Bruce, who worked at a dealership for ten years rebuilding engines and transmissions.
As a young man Jacob spent countless hours racing Motocross with his father and brother. As they constantly rebuilt their engines to increase the performance of their dirt bikes a love for speed became a never ending lifestyle
After deciding that working at a dealership was not the career Bruce wanted anymore, he started Bruce’s Automotive and Machine Inc. Jacob already had a vast knowledge of engine building and had decided to further his education in high performance by attending college. Combining these two forces, Bruce knew that he had made the right business decision.

Jacob Cook graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio with a degree as a High Performance Automotive Technician, specializing in custom engine building. Immediately after graduation Jake started working at Steve Schmidt Racing in Indianapolis Indiana building high end competition and pro stock engines.
When Don Schumacher bought out Steve Schmidt’s racing shop in 2004, Jake knew it was the perfect time to take the knowledge he had learned and expand his father’s business. Jacob and Bruce Cook are now partners as owners of Cook Performance Engines.
Jacob and Bruce Cook are constantly buying and upgrading state of the art shop equipment to build the best performance engines available today.
